Supported Housing
Metropolitan Development Services (MDS) works closely with MHP's specialist care and support business Metropolitan Support Trust, one of the largest providers of supported housing in England. MHP has maintained a development programme of renewal, replacements and new schemes in this field of work consistently over the past 20 years.
Current funding arrangements make it difficult to develop new capital schemes. However, it is possible to continue to develop award winning projects through innovative financing, cross-subsidy and partnerships.
New developments over the past three years, and those that are in the pipeline, include:
- schemes for the elderly
- schemes for those leaving hospital
- projects for vulnerable youths
- homes for those needing long term care.
MDS's supported housing and special project teams work closely with clients including Social Services, the NHS, probation services as well as MHP's internal client departments, to create effective briefs that are then developed into viable, manageable and popular projects.
